In South Pacific, love transcends the harsh realities of war and prejudice in a sweeping tale centered around two unlikely love affairs. Based on James Michener’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, this timeless classic features some of the most beautiful music ever composed including “Some Enchanted Evening,” “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair,”and “There is Nothin’ Like a Dame.”

MICHAEL RADER (Director) is a NYC based Director and Arts Executive. His diverse career in the arts has afforded him positions such as Artistic Director for Cirque du Soleil, Broadway Liaison and Arts Education Consultant to the New York City Department of Education and Entertainment Director for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. JOYCE CHITTICK (Choreographer) recently restaged Beautiful: The Carole King Musical for productions in Tokyo and Australia, and serves as the Associate Choreographer for the Broadway and US National Tour of Beautiful. Co- directed/choreographed My Way for Ivoryton Playhouse. As choreographer, recently choreographed The Drama League’s 2016 gala, honoring David Hyde Pierce, national tours of Grease and Wonderful Town, two seasons as an on-screen choreographer for Lifetime’s AUDC, FIFA world event, and the indie film Virgin Alexander. As an Associate Choreographer, a Frank Loesser review, Luck Be A Lady at Asolo Rep, Paint Your Wagon at NY’s City Center Encores! and the new stage musical adaptation of Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn at the St. Louis Muny and Goodspeed Opera House. Joyce has taught master classes for NYU, University of Austin, Point Park, and Penn State. As a performer, 11 Broadway shows and has proudly performed with Spinal Tap!
GARRETT TAYLOR (Music Director) is a conductor, pianist, and orchestrator as well as a multifaceted performer. He has performed with symphonies in the US and in Europe, concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Washington D.C.’s Constitution Hall, along with numerous recitals and cabarets in New York City. Broadway/National Tour credits include: Wicked, Annie (2012 revival), Irving Berlin’s White Christmas,Grease, Sweet Charity,Disney’sBeauty and the Beast, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Regional credits include: Chicago, A Little Night Music, Light in the Piazza (Carbonell Award nominee for best music director), Gypsy, Oklahoma, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown. TV Specials include: CBS Presents: A New York Christmas to Remember. Over the years Garrett has worked as a vocal coach and music director at many institutions including NYU, Manhattan School of Music, Marymount, Queens College, and AMDA.

The New York Philharmonic’s My Fair Lady, New York City Opera’s Wonderful Town, NBC’s Another World (Emmy Nominated) and the film Mermaids, starring Cher are favorite projects. 25 years designing for Papermill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera, The Ahmanson Theater, North Shore Music Theatre, The Boston Ballet, The Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Riverside Theatre, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and 13 Off-Broadway Shows. Currently, on tour with Barry Manilow.

JOSEPH PALERMO (Sound Designer) is a Chicago based Sound Designer and Digital Technologist who is quite pleased to be here for your listening pleasure. He’s been recognized at the Cannes Film Festival, the Chicago Merrit Awards and by the University of Glasgow for excellence in Design Concepts. Besides his work at The Cape Playhouse he’s also working on his next big project, a production of The Polar Express in collaboration with Amtrak and Warner Brothers, on an actual running train.
